Know which parts of the chain-link system failed
Chain-link repair is often component-based. A damaged stretch of fabric may be replaceable without rebuilding the full perimeter, while a failed terminal post or drive-gate opening can require more structural work because tension and gate loads meet at that point.
Pecos checks fabric, top rail, line posts, terminal posts, tension bars, bands, ties, caps, gate frames, hinges, latches, and wheel or guide components where applicable. The goal is to restore a continuous, functional perimeter rather than patching one visible piece and leaving the adjacent system loose.
Commercial sites may also have access and security requirements that affect repair sequencing. If a service yard, equipment area, or vehicle entrance needs to remain controlled during the work, that should be discussed before demolition begins.
Fabric damage is different from post damage
A small torn or bent section of chain-link fabric may be repairable while the frame stays in place. Bent terminal posts, displaced corners or a damaged gate opening are more involved because they anchor the tension of the fabric. Repairing only the visible mesh will not restore a fence if the surrounding framework is loose.
Retension the system, not just the damaged patch
Top rails, line posts, tension bars, bands and ties keep chain link aligned. After an impact or post movement, those fittings may need to be reset or replaced. On a galvanized or black-coated fence, we also consider how replacement components will match the existing finish.
For pet areas, bottom gaps matter just as much as appearance. For commercial perimeters, gate function, traffic and security may determine the order of the repair.

Frequently asked questions
Can damaged chain-link fabric be repaired without replacing the whole fence?
Often, yes. If the posts, rails, and surrounding fabric remain serviceable, the damaged section can often be replaced or re-tensioned without rebuilding the entire perimeter.
Do you repair chain-link gates?
Yes. Pecos can evaluate walk and drive gates, including posts, hinges, latches, frames, wheels, and alignment.
Can bent chain-link posts be replaced?
Yes. The repair depends on whether the post is a line post, terminal post, or gate post because each carries different loads.
Do you repair residential and commercial chain-link fencing?
Yes. Pecos repairs chain link for residential yards, dog areas, service yards, equipment areas, commercial perimeters, and pedestrian or vehicle access points.
