Worth evaluating
A real Pecos repair project
One completed Pecos job involved converting part of a five-foot wood privacy-fence panel into a three-foot walk gate. The work included narrow prestained pickets, post and concrete work, and a low kickboard to help close gaps for small dogs.
Rather than automatically replacing the entire fence, the goal was to make the opening useful while keeping good surrounding sections. We look at the gate frame, supporting posts, grade, hardware and neighboring fence before quoting a repair.
The repair process
Tell us the city, the problem and roughly how much fence is affected. Wide photos plus close-ups of posts, rails or gate hardware are helpful.
We assess the condition of the adjacent fence and whether a focused repair will hold. Gate movement, grade and drainage may change the scope.
The estimate should identify the affected posts, panels, boards, fabric or hardware and any necessary haul-off or finishing work.

If damage is isolated and the surrounding fence is structurally sound, repair can be worthwhile. If many posts, rails, boards, and gates are failing across the property, replacement is often the better long-term value.
Often, yes, when the surrounding fence and layout support the upgrade. We inspect the full run before recommending it.
Yes, depending on the cause. Repairs may involve hinges, frame, hardware, latch alignment, the hinge post, or rebuilding the gate itself.
Fresh lumber usually starts lighter than aged wood. Stain can help coordinate color, but an exact match is not always possible because older boards have weathered over time.
